PCC Tonight - Pack Review
By The Ven Steve Wilcockson - Archdeacon of Doncaster
A CPAS Resource to Encourage you and your PCC
Is your PCC fulfilling its potential? Are your meetings strategic and purposeful? Does your PCC lead the way in mission planning?
PCC Tonight is a resource to help clergy and PCC work together more effectively in shared leadership.
Rev. Dave Berry, Vicar of St. Peter’s Bentley, Doncaster, has started using it with his PCC:
“I bought PCC Tonight because, although we had made some good decisions, our PCC meetings weren’t all they could be. I wanted us to be more of a team with a shared direction. We’ve now done four of the six sessions and it has already made a significant difference. The stated aim is to make your PCC look forward to their meetings. PCC Tonight has helped us make significant progress towards this objective.”
The pack costs £18.75p. and consists of:
- A leader’s guidebook offering lots of resources and ideas.
- Six 35-minute session notes
- Links to access further materials on the CPAS web site.
Six 35-minute sessions cover:
- Why does the Church exist?
- Why does the PCC exist?
- What’s the best way to run our meetings?
- Reviewing our Worship
- Reviewing our Mission
- Reviewing our life as a Church community.
These sessions can be the theme of an away-day, or can be used as separate 35-minute introductions to PCC meetings over the course of a year or so.
You can also contact the centre's administrator Stephanie Osman on 01709 309105 or via email email@example.com.
The Church Pastoral Aid Society has been serving the mission of the Church of England since Lord Shaftesbury founded it in 1836. Today, one of its major ministries is in resourcing church leadership.
